What do I want for my Birthday?

My birthday is coming up on July 6th!

I'll admit, I've always been really tough to buy gifts for. I'm very picky about clothes, purses, fragrances, and even jewelry... so the Mr. doesn't even try to buy those for me usually. And now that we're married and share money, we usually just tell each what we want for Birthday/Christmas gifts and take each other out for a fun dinner. Boring, I know. But very practical.

So when the Mr. asked me what I wanted for my Birthday I responded:

1. Sprinkles Cupcakes!

Sprinkles cupcakes are just amazing. So much better than all of the copycat cupcakes out there. My mouth is watering just thinking about their vanilla or red velvet cupcakes.

2. A Bose iPod SoundDock

I have a generic iPod docking station that I use all the time. It is time to upgrade. Does anyone have a Bose? Do you love it?

3. To deposit money into our "Europe Trip" ING Account.

We're going to Europe next summer! Definitely to Italy and Germany and maybe to one other country. So my new favorite thing to do is to transfer money over to our ING "Europe Trip" Account that I set up especially to save money for an amazing trip!

Bridesmaid as a Mrs.

This weekend was my friend, C's wedding and I had the honor of being a Bridesmaid in it. This was my first time being a Bridesmaid since I've become a Mrs. myself.

I had an absolute blast and their wedding was simply stunning. I took over 100 pictures, but here a few for your viewing pleasure...

Details in the Bride's bouquet:

The beautiful Bride!

All of the centerpieces befor they went in the ballroom. Beautiful:

Me and three of my Gamma Phi sorority sisters who were also bridesmaids:

Pretty in Pink!

First kiss! Mazel tov!

Not the newest newlyweds anymore!

Mr & Mrs!

It was an interesting experience being in a wedding again, but this time not as the bride herself and now having the wisdom from being the bride. I tried not to be a "know it all" and tried to give the bride my unconditional support and love. My other goal was to be as low maintenance as possible, and not complain about anything.

I was also reminded a lot of my own wedding - the feelings I had that day, the vows we made, and how much I love my husband.

I could not be happier for the new Mr and Mrs. S! They are an amazing couple and I'm so happy to have another friend in my very small "wives club."

I'm Such a "Blonde" Sometimes

I've blogged before about my love for Pandora.

So in Pandora, songs usually display with Album covers like this:

But occasionally I'd see Album covers like this:

Well, after seeing a couple of these "Blue" Album covers I thought to myself, "that's funny, a lot of artists have this strange blue Album cover!"

It took me a few days to realize that this was not an Album cover, but Pandora's symbol for "no album cover to display".

I'm such a blonde sometimes, you'd swear it was my natural hair color!

Berzerk Weekend

Is Wednesday too late to recap the weekend? I think not.

Friday night I got my hair done by my friend and hair stylist extraordinaire, Carey at Ten Salon in Long Beach.

My hair is a lot blonder and bit shorter. I love it! Carey styled my hair so cute and wavy (why I can't do create this look on my own?)

Then the Mr. and I headed out to Cirque Berzerk. A Cirque show in LA.

The show was great! It was no "O" but it was a lot of fun.

We had great seats. Look how close we were!

Saturday I tormented the Mr. for a couple of hours by having him clean the house with me. Does anyone else feel like getting their husbands to clean is sometimes like pulling teeth?

Then I cruised over to Nordstrom Rack and bought this little top:

The price? $9! I love Nordstrom Rack. You have to be in the mood to wade through all the ugly and odd-sized stuff, but there are definitely diamonds in the rough for great prices!

The reason I wanted a new shirt is that Saturday night was my Consulting Firm's Summer party at Lucky Strike in the new LA Live in Downtown LA. Here we are before we left for the party.

We took the Metro from Long Beach to Downtown so we didn't have to have a designated driver. How un-LA of us, huh? If you look closely at these pics, I'm not wearing my engagement ring because the Mr. wouldn't let me wear it on the Metro. Ha!

Sadly, I have no pictures from the even because I didn't bring my camera. But the event was a lot of fun and LA Live is so cool!

Up next this weekend? C's Wedding!

How Fast They Grow!

Remember our little kitten, Judah, that we got at the end of April?

Well, he's still my baby, but he's growing up so fast!

He used to chew on this "Pink Panther" little stuffed toy that we had in our home office...

But now he's graduated to biting my USC Rally Monkey. I just hope he's not a Bruin!

Ohh that's better...

He's super friendly, fun, playful, and sometime quite rowdy...

But does tucker himself out...

He loves to lay next to my laptop and feel the heat from the laptop fan...

Or just plop himself down right on the laptop! "Hey Judah, I'm trying to work here!"

Danica (aka Chic Runner) came over last week last week, so she can attest that Judah is one wild and crazy kitten, but very social.

The Mr. says Judah is not our "baby" but I know that he so is!

Blogger is Being Lame

For some reason any traffic going to newlywedsnextdoor.blogspot.com isn't redirecting to http://www.newlywedsnextdoor.com/. Likewise for feeds in Google Reader, etc.

So until google gets their act together, I'm not posting.

So, if you are reading this:
1. Make sure you use http://www.newlywedsnextdoor.com/ to come to this site and any links you have use that URL as well.
2. If you are subscriber make sure the feed you have: http://www.newlywedsnextdoor.com/feeds/posts/default. You can unsubscribe and resubscribe to ensure you have the right feed.
3. Or do nothing and just wait until google fixes everything.

I'm bummed...

But at least tonight I have a hair cut and a night out at Cirque Berzerk to cheer me up.

Talk to you this weekend or next week!

"Spring" Cleaning

Being that it is almost the first day of summer, I squeezed in my spring cleaning this week just in time!

I went through all of our medicines, cosmetics, and toiletries to see what was old, not being used, or expired. And WOW! The amount of expired medicines in our bathroom was almost comical. The worst offenders? A Vicks VapoRub and a Neosporin that expired in 2001! 2001! That means that the Mr. or I had carted those from our hometowns to college and STILL had them.

Here's a glimpse of some of the cosmetics I that I trashed becuase they were expired:

Also in my cleaning I managed to knock a box of cheerios off of the shelf and they went everywhere! Good thing my Dyson was near by to vacuum those puppies up! Look how funny they look in the Dyson:

The Mr. did a little Spring cleaning of his own and purchased himself a new pair of Rainbows Sandals. Here is a picture of the old pair vs. the new pair:

Isn't that that contrast crazy? Rainbows are meant to conform to your feet so the leathers is meant to wear down. Such as stark difference!

Did you get your Spring cleaning done this year?

Recap of the Final Fling Before the Bling

I had a fabulous weekend at the Viceroy in Palm Springs for my friend C's Bachelorette party. The Viceroy is a boutique resort and spa designed in a modern interpretation of the Hollywood Regency style. It was so adorable with it's private villas, refreshing grounds and relaxing pools.

We spent most of the weekend relaxing, tanning, gossiping, and drinking at the pool.

We also spent some fun nights out on the town eating at restuaurants and checking out a couple of local bars. Here is the whole crew of us on the second night:

You can see some of the presents I got C. Some "sexy" bride panties and an "embellished" veil. Ha! Also pictured below are some shots of us in our villa and a couple of the Bridesmaids busting out "Like a Virgin" at a karaoke bar. Love it.
