We're always on the go. And NOLA recommendations wanted...

We're settling into our new home and loving it. I wish I had more time to just be home and enjoy San Diego, but it's hard because it seems we're always on the go!

I'm gone for work during the week a lot. And we have lots of other long weekend trips happening.

Last weekend we were in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Here's an aerial shot of where we spent most of our time.

That's right. Laaaazzzzy river, baby! We got upgraded to a poolside suite at the Westin Kierland. Thanks Starwood!

This Summer we're also going to Chicago, Boston, and the Oregon Coast. Whew!

AND this Fall we're going to New Orleans. I just booked our hotels and flights for a 4.5 day trip to The Big Easy!

I've never been to NOLA before, so I need recommendations from all of you southern gals! Where to eat? What to do? Other tips?

Arizona Weekend

We spent three wonderful days in Scottsdale, Arizona for the long weekend.

Obviously a majority of our time was spent in the lazy river at the Westin Kierland.


We enjoyed reading, drinking, and relaxing poolside as well.


Yes, my husband reads "Foreign Affairs" poolside. Super light reading, right? :)



We also had dinner with some friends of mine from work in Phoenix one of the nights, which was a blast.

On our final day we hiked Pinnacle Peak.


It's a 3.5 mile hike through a really cool desert mountain.


We saw tons of wildlife. Lots or rabbits, birds, and lizards. We managed to capture a picture of one huge lizard lounging on this rock. Can you spot him?


We also saw lots of great desert plants and cacti. Like this crazy Saguaro Cactus.


There are also some amazing views of Scottsdale.


If you're ever in Scottsdale I highly recommend this hike.


How was your Memorial Day?

Errr, I mean Phoenix, Arizona.

That means we're off to our fourth annual trip to Phoenix!

I've blogged about prior trips here and here.

We love to escape LA during the May Grey/June Gloom phase and get some fun and sun in the desert.

We'll be lounging by this pool...

But I'm guessing a majority of time will be spent in the laaaaazy river!


Is anyone else obsessed with lazy rivers like we are?

The H is O for the 4th of July

That's right, the heat is on for the 4th of July because we're heading to Phoenix, Arizona!



Yup, it's gonna be like 106 degrees.

So we'll be spending the hot days here...



And enjoying the warm desert nights here...

There Is An Arizona

We are back from our mini vay-kay in Arizona! It was a blast!

We stayed at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. A very beautiful and fun property!

Friday night we had dinner in Scottsdale with a fellow "Large Consulting Firm" co-worker and her husband.

Saturday we got up early to play some tennis.


Then we went back to the suite where the Mr. mixed up some Patron Margaritas for us to take the pool.


We spent the rest of the day floating around the huge lazy river sippin' ritas and getting tan.

Next summer trip? Lake of the Ozarks for my family reunion!

Arizona to enjoy the

sun and

a beautiful resort. We'll be drinking

lots of margaritas while floating on

the sweet lazy river. We'll be playing some

Tennis. And enjoying

quality time together.
