Housewife for a Week

I have to take mandatory “paid time off” from work this week (which, for the record, I’m 100% fine with). The only unfortunate thing is that Mr. has to work this week. So you know what that means …

I’m a housewife for a week!

Considering that I will likely always be a working wife (and sometime in the future, Mom), this “housewife” stuff is rare and uncharted territory for me.

I started of this morning making a schedule of what I need to accomplish this week and what events I have planned for the week so that I don’t waste my entire week blogging, facebooking, and catching up on my DVR.

My main activities this week will be:

  • House cleaning and organizing
  • Taking down Christmas decorations
  • Installing new software on my computer and doing some digital scrapbooking (The Mr. got me Photoshop Elements for Christmas!)
  • Working out (ugh, those holiday lbs)
  • Catching up on old emails
  • Errands (Target, Costco, REI)
  • Working on our wedding album (yes, I know I’m a year late on this)
  • And maybe if the Mr. gets lucky, a little bit of cooking

I’m also having dinner with a bloggy friend and meeting my Mom in Orange County for some shopping! So it’s not all work.

I'll also definitely have some new blog posts this week, so stay tuned.

Is anyone else out there a housewife for a week?

I would love to do that. I was a housewife last week. Lots of baking and what started to be cleaning time in the guestroom turning into a 2 hour nap.

I'm home this week too, and I'm loving it! It's so much easier to get things done when I have some free time without hubby here!

I'm a housewife for the week too! I'm calling it vacation but yes my campus makes us take unpaid days as well. I'm definitely doing a lot of the things on your list too this week.

I am too! It's only been a few hours but I already feel a bit lonely. I'm planning on doing a whole lot of cooking, cleaning, and errands.

I'm impressed by your list! I will be even more impressed if you get it done! Haha. Whenever I'm off for a few days, I have all these great intentions...but keep saying, Oh I will do it tomorrow. Then tomorrow turns into the next day and pretty soon my vacation is up and I have don't a darn thing!

Nope, but hubby's home. I should convince him to be a househubby for the week. His plan is to play video games all week!

I'm working Monday through Wed. But, last Wed, I took the day off and ran errands in a sweat suit all day long. I was the epitome of an OC housewife. Ha!

That's so fun! Enjoy your week as a housewife. I'm off all week, too, but so is my husband. A little part of me wishes I'd have the house to myself a day or two!

Also, my husband got me Photoshop Elements also! If you find any good tutorials, please share! Have you seen the Jessica Sprague tutorial for digi scrapping? It's very helpful! Let me know if you need a link!

Enjoy your week off! I got to do that last week, I SO did not want to come back to work. Wish we could find a way for me to stay home all the time.

I have the exact same setup this week - and I'm loving it. It does take a day or so to get used to this pace, though - I keep thinking "Really, I actually have time to get that errand done?"

Hope you enjoy & have a good week.
