Dream Jobs

Lately, work has been killing my free time! Sorry for being so MIA.

Although I love my job and it would take a lot to get me to leave it, I sometimes think about what I would do if I could have any job in the world.

I came up with five dream jobs that I'd love to have...

1. Professional Organizer

I live for organizing. The Container Store is pretty much my heaven. When I was young I'd help my friends clean out their closets.

I'd love to help people organize their homes and lives for a living.

2. Winemaker

It's no secret that I love wine -- tasting it, buying it, drinking it. I love visiting vineyards -- seeing the grapes, the barrel rooms, the tasting rooms. I just think it would be so fun to own a vineyard and make our own wine.

3. Restaurateur

I'm also a foodie. I'd love to come up with fun restaurant idea, pick the menus, and entertain patrons. I know owning a restaurant is a tough and risky business but if I could make it work, I'd love it. Plus this is something that I think the Mr. and I would love doing together.

4. Party Planner

Source

I had SO much fun planning my wedding. I make inspiration boards and help people come up with party and wedding ideas. There are just endless amazing ideas out there for parties.

5. CEO/Leader/Owner of a Small Business

I know, this one is vague. But I think it would be amazing to start some kind of small business with friends or associates. I'm not talking about starting the next Facebook or something, but owning some kind of small business where we can make a living, have fun, and do something meaningful.

Now tell me, what are YOUR dream jobs?

Thanks for organizing my closet when I was a kid... :)

I would be a photographer! Pick my own hours/clients and get to travel (for weddings and stuff!).

I'm on the photography train. But I would be the "stuff" kind not the people kind.

Anyway, what is stopping you from persuing one of these dream jobs? If you have passion, nothing should hold you back.

Great choices. I'd be a fashion designer or small business owner. I LOVE the way you put it..."Be able to make a living" That would be perfect! :)

I totally agree with the winemaker! I'd also like to try my hand as a chef (although I'd need A LOT of training).

I actually am a party planner and although it is also one of my dream jobs, it's definitely not as glamorous as it sounds :)

I may be needing one of your inspiration boards in the future. Just putting dibs on it now!

I love that you shared your personality though other dream careers. Mine would be chef, event planner, interior decorator. I'm hoping I'll get closer to these when my husband and I start a family down the road. Happy Friday!

Too cute! After several hectic work weeks, I think we all start to fantasize about dream jobs even if we love our own! A friend and I had this exact conversation earlier in the week and I determined, like you, that I'd want to be an organizer (I'm an organization freak!) or some type of counselor.

Loved your finance post from earlier too!

I have two dream jobs: to be a chef (I do think I missed my call on this one) and to be a bookstore owner. The last one is still a possibility ; )

I love your sentiment about the Container Store - I feel the same way! But I don't know if I could help someone else organize their stuff. :)

Pretty sure I would love all of these jobs. I have recently been watching Hoarders on Netflix and I'm jealous of the professional organizers!

I SO need to hire a professional organizer. Myyy goodness!!! :) I'm very indecisive so... I can't really pick one. I would love to own a quaint shop that sells cutesy stuff. A mix of home decor, unique baby gifts, unique jewelry, etc. Those are my favorite places to shop!

#1 for sure! I strongly considered this for years when I was younger but didn't really know how to get into it. I would love to be a professional orgnizer, container store is one of my all time favorite stores.

Also #5, I would love to own my own business and have it be enough to sustain me. I have no problem working hard, but it's a lot easier to burn out when you're working hard for others and don't necessarily reap the benefits financially. This is my current dream for the future.

My other dream job, is professional shopper. I think I would be incredibly good at it (I've done bits and pieces of it in the past) and really, there is nothing better than being paid to spend money for someone else!

I love this post! I might steal the idea one day and post about my dream jobs...giving you credit of course!

Next party I have, I'll come to you. You're welcome to be my planner :)
