This & That

For some reason "this" and "that" makes me think of that Kia Hamster Commercial. I don't care what people say, I love that commercial.

I know I've been an MIA blogger -- I've had a lot of things on my mind that I can't blog about. Maybe sometime later I'll blog about it.

So here are some random things on my mind...

1. I've already started working on our Christmas cards. I think Shutterfly has the best cards for the price. I really like some other sites (like Minted) but Shutterfly is almost as good for 1/2 the price. I'm probably going to use our Europe pictures on the card since that was the biggest thing for us in 2010. Maybe something like this:

What do you think? Where do you get your Christmas cards done? I have no affiliation to Shutterfly, I've just used them before, so I am open to suggestions.

2. Simply Bags sent me a fun, personalized, insulated lunch bag to share with you all. It's so cute and it definitely helps keep my lunch cold at work. Good stuff.

3. I'm thinking about jumping on the Skype bandwagon so that the Mr. and I can Skype with our families far away. My FIL recommended the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema Web Camera so we may be purchasing one of these soon.

Do you Skype? Do you have a webcam that you like?

4. I used to love scrapbooking, but now I never do it. I'm moving more toward digital scrapbooking (I'm sloooowly learning Photoshop Elements). Should I sell my old scrapbooking supplies on my blog? Do people still do paper scrapbooking?

5. I've been slogging through changing my name. Trying to get all of my Credit Cards, Frequent Flier Accounts, etc. moved to my married name. This has only taken me a lightening-fast two years. What I love about the process is that the only thing that is consistent is inconsistency. Some Credit Cards you can change your name over the phone, some you have to fax a form, some you have to mail a form. I love it.

What's new with all of you?

I love shutterfly!! Good choice.
I also love your bag. TOO cute! I do Skype - but I have a built in webcam on my laptop, so can't help you there. :(

Hope you've been well. I was thinking of shooting you an email this week!

Ugh, I know...the name change thing is killing me! The social security office is only open from 9-3 here, mon-fri! so inconvient and the location is an hour away from my house and not much closer to work so that's where I'm stuck. It only took me several months to get all the certified copies of the marriage license that we needed. You had to go in person, pay with cash, during their limited hours and we didn't get married close to home so it was quite the trek to make it over to that office! I wish I could just wave a magic wand!

I have gobs of paper scrapbooking stuff too...boxes and boxes of creative memories stuff, I do mostly blurb albums now so I really haven't come up with a solution for all of it myself!

I changed my name at the DMV right after we got married, but didn't change it anywhere else until a week before Hudson was born because TC made me! haha! He said that the baby better have his last name. So funny.

Men have it so easy!

And we love Skype!!

I used Vistaprint for my cards last year and they turned out so nice.
I skype all the time with my sister. My neices and nephews think it is the coolest thing that they can talk to my brother and sister while their at college!

I skype - I have the built in camera on the imac. I love skype. I get to chat with my son that lives in Alaska all the time. He just moved into a new apartment and I have got to see it all via skype.. ahhh modern technology.

I get my Christmas cards form Wal Greens. I have also been thinking about photos to use.

I do not scrapbook. So no help here!!

I used shutterfly for my Christmas cards last year and was pretty happy with them. I like their options for fold-over cards with photos on the inside. And the prices is pretty great.

I've used skype to video chat with the hubby when he travels during the week. But we've gotten out of the habit of it... I definitely like the personal touch from seeing his face, guess we just got lazy. But really Skype is very easy!

I LOVE THE KIA COMMERCIAL TOO! I think most find it annoying, but I always want to sing along.

I still paper scrapbook! Although I will probably be switching to online as well. I haven't touched my paper scrapbooks in a loooong time. They are so fun to look at though!

I use etsy.com. There are a ton of people on there that will design cards for $15. They will do them in a 4x6 or 5x7 format. Then you take the pdf somewhere and print out what you want.

Yes, I still paper scrapbook.

In the past we haven't done personalized christmas cards but I'm hoping that will change this year.

My husband and I were talking about getting my father in law a webcam for christmas so when our baby is born next year we can skype with him since he lives in a different state.

I haven't ever gotten nice personalized cards - but maybe this year!

So far I have changed most of my bank accounts and CC's but still have to do the DL, SS card, passport, and tax forms (ugh).

OH my gosh! I LOVE minted too but SO expensive. We went thru shutterfly last year also! I think COSTCO is the best though! :)

I am a big skype fan! I'm lucky to have the built in camera on my macbook.

I still scrapbook with paper...not as much as I used to, but I still love it!

I used to use skpe back when one of my friends was living in Europe a few years ago. I never bought a video camera, and would just use the fact that I could talk through a microphone. But I think it's great and would be even better with a video camera.

As for scrapbooking I still say I do it. Mainly because I have scrapbooks that aren't finished and all the stuff is so cute. But honestly it's been forever since I've done anything, so I guess I don't really scrapbook anymore.

Hey girl! Hope everything is ok with you two! I've been using an etsy seller for the past 2 years for Christmas cards ($25) and then printing them at walmart.com for 10 cents a piece and it includes envelopes. I'll email you the link if you want it!

You totally need to jump on the skype bandwagon. We love it!

I have been so bad at changing my name on so many things!! I've done it at the bank, DMV, and SS office but haven't changed anything on my car, a few credit cards, etc.
Love your Christmas card choice!

I still have to change my name on lots of things, too. :X Really long and irritating process. Blagh.

I love paper scrapbooking. (I will pick tangible, paper stuff over digital stuff any day.)

And I love "the Choice is Yours" by Black Sheep. I laughed my head off when I first saw the commercial. :P I wonder what made them want to use hamsters in the first place?

I have the same lunch bag! And our names are so similar I had to take a double look at the picture lol

I love your christmas card! I think picture cards are so cute but they aren't really 'done' here in England.

I need to start thinking about Christmas cards myself...it'll be here before you know it.

Your Christmas card is adorable! So funny b/c I started looking at them this week also! Shutterfly is my fave too. I like it and Tinyprints.com but most of the designs are the same.

Last year for Xmas cards, I used Shutterfly and Tiny Prints. The tiney prints cards were a nicer material/paper, but the picture quality was the same as Shutterfly. This year I will probably just use Shutterfly. I love your xmas card idea. In our past 3 years, we have picked pictures that show what big happened that year, so I think that idea is GREAT to include your trip pics!! This year the big thing was getting pregnant, so I may have my dog in the picture alone wearing a big sister shirt! :)
We use skype all the time to talk to our family in New Zealand, and I just use the webcam on m laptop! Get on the bandwagon! It is so fun!
