Mirror Mirror on the Wall

I've been on kind of a nesting spree lately! Ben Bernanke, you cannot blame low consumer confidence on us!

The latest obsession? A sweet mirror for our dining room.

As you may know, in our Condo the living room and dining room are one big open room.

I've been on the hunt for a cool mirror to go above our dining room table for a while. But now that we found our living room art, I'm ready to buy something for that part of the room to really complete it!

Here is how the room will look once we get the art.

You like how I superimposed the image of our art onto that living room picture? Yeah, I'm crafty like that.

I decided that a round mirror would be best for the space above the table, so I scoured the internet to find mirrors that would fit the bill, and I now present to you my "mirror round-up."

I love #3, but that's an outrageous price for a stinkin' mirror. #6 doesn't really fit the clean lines and feel of the room. So those two are pretty much out at this point. That leaves the remaining five in the running.

I really like #7 but it's the smallest of them, and I'd really like it more if it was six inches bigger in diameter.

Which one do you like?

This is really random, but I recently got a really cool round mirror at Aaron Brothers and I see them all the time at Home Goods. Don't buy one of those overpriced mirrors...you'll regret it AND with the money saved, you'll be able to buy other accessories! : )

Ooh number one for sure. :) It looks like it would match the furniture well.

This kind of depends on how/if you plan to frame the living room art.

Without knowing that, I prefer #2. It has nice straight lines that fit a contemporary style. It also reminds me of a white sun.

You have a lot of browns/blacks so #1 would work too.

I think it's important you get something with presence and has a wide frame (like #1) to balance out the large art piece.

I'm kinda digging #2!

I'm really liking number 6, I love the detailed outer edge. But that's just my opinion!

I would go with #1. It's got the dark brown/black that ties in to the rest of the apartment.

Man, I was going to vote for #6 until you said you were x-naying it. Hmm.. then I'm going to vote #2 :) Loving how it's all coming together!!

oooh i LOVE number 1! I love the framing.. and I think it would look fab with your color scheme! I've been in the market for one of those free-standing full length mirrors.. Those suckers can break your bank, for sure!! All in due time, I guess!

I really like #2 and #7 but these all seem a little pricey.

I would definitely go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls and check out their selections...

Love the photoshopping skills with the pic above the couch though!!

I like #1 and #7. Have you checked Pier 1 or World Market?? They usually have a good mirror selection too.

I would vote for number #2 or #3, to break up all the dark colors.

Thanks for your comment on our blog! I love finding new reads. I agree that #7 is my favorite (along with everything else in that store!) Have you checked out thisyounhouse.com ? A great site that I think you would enjoy.

Ah, and I went to Santa Barbara City College before I transfered back home to CU Boulder :)

From the pictures of your space I like either #1 or #2. #1 if you want to go with your dark furniture or #2 for an opposite effect.

I like #4 or #7 - they have the cleanest and boldest lines, which goes with what you already have.
I do like #6 though, too. Because it's so different, it's a nice counterpoint.

#2 I love it!
