Doing a bit of shopping...

Something about Spring always makes me want to go shopping -- maybe it's the bright happy colors in the stores, or the fact that it's so fun to enjoy the California outdoor malls in the sunny weathers.

Whatever it is, I've been doing a bit of shopping!

First for our Europe trip I bought...

This jersey maxi dress from Old Navy.

I thought it would be great for touring, day or night - dress up or down with belts and scarves.

This Kenneth Cole Reaction Luggage from TJ Maxx.

We needed a new piece of mid-sized luggage for our journeys.

And this sweater from Macy's in black.

I have so many cute sundresses, but this little sweater will help them to be more modest for touring churches, etc.

Question for you all -- what cute shoes do you recommend for walking around and touring all day? I don't want to look all grubby in my running shoes, but I don't think I can walk all day in my stylish sandals. Advice is needed!

Also, for work....

I bought this Calvin Klein dress at TJ Maxx (50% off!)

And for around the house...

The nice people at Playful Threads gave me this adorable cami/boy-short sleepwear set!

A definite improvement over my winter sleepwear!

You can read more Playful Threads and their collection of sleepwear, dresses, lingerie, and more on my Reviews and Giveaways site.

What items are on your list for this Spring?

I bought the same maxi dress to wear this summer! I figure I'll be using it early in the year more before it gets too hot! It should be great for when we go to Orlando in June!

Maybe some cute flats (like ballerina flats)?
But don't make the mistake to go in flip flops because your feet will be ruined after one day, especially if you find summertime temperatures.

Love that ON dress! I need to go visit my ON and get one, because you are so right. It would be a fabulous purchase for our Europe trip, too!!

Adorable maxi dress AND work dress! Oh, I love when you can find great designer clothes at TJ Maxx for a GREAT price!

Shoe suggestions....like the previous reader wrote, do NOT wear flip flops! Ballet flats, or even some of those cute sketcher's....like these.... http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/shoes/womens/fashionathletic/PRD~420458/Skechers+Point+Blank+Crackled+Shoes.jsp

Not being bias, but I bought these today, and they are very cute, plus athletically stylish!

Good luck finding some shoes...most importantly, BE COMFY!! :)

I live in Mississippi, and Toms are really popular here. Not sure about California? They are great slip on flats, that come in all sorts of fabrics and colors. Plus, when you buy a pair, they send a pair to a children in a 3rd world country. I just got my first pair a couple of weeks ago, and I LOVE them. They are really comfortable and I think would be fun traveling.

Also, Chacos are great as well. They can't really be dressed up, but they are so comfortable.

Maybe you could bring a couple of pair of light weight shoes in your bag and switch them out? I can walk all day in my Reef's!

Love your maxi dress and sweater... I think I'm too short for maxi dresses. I always look funny!

I bought the same Maxi Dress for my trip to Puerto Rico; Beware of the first time you wash it--it shrinks considerably. You can stretch it back to close to the same length, but just be warned!

jcrew ballet flats lover. they are pricey at $100 but super comfortable. i just got a pair on sale but it was final sale so check the site. it came out to like $45 with the extra 30 off. they run half a size big in my opinion.
i also like the converse with no laces. if you got a pair in white that could look cute with dresses if the dress was above the knee.

I really like my Cole Haan Air flats for walking around and still looking nice. They are so comfortable. I love that CK dress, by the way!

When I went to Italy and toured around the country, my favorite shoes to wear were Merrells. They have some stylish but comfortable shoes. Hope that helps! Can't wait to read about your up coming trip. :)

I actually wore cute black Crocs flats. I know most people think "ugly" when they think of Crocs, but I found a really nice pair and I wore them all over Europe. There is a pic in my blog...just search Honeymoon.

I can walk all day in Reef's like Brown girl, or Yellowboxes. Very comfortable and way cute.

Love all those purchases! I would also buy a pair of flats and maybe look at a gel insert just in case. I also love my reef flip flips with arch support or a pair of slip on vans ( although they wouldn't look very cute with a dress)

Reefs all the way! I backpacked in Europe for a couple of weeks and I lived in my Reefs. My travel partner was super jealous!
