Crusing the Caribbean for Christmas!

Yesterday I hinted that we have BIG Christmas plans...

Because we're going on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise!

Last year I had a pretty crappy Christmas, so this year I wanted to do something different and fun! So I convinced the Mr. and my parents to forgo Christmas presents this year and instead do a week long cruise together as our presents to each other.

We'll be on the Celebrity Eclipse ship...

Staying in "Aqua Class"...

And visiting the islands of Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and St. Kitt's!

Here's what we're thinking about doing in each place:
- Puerto Rico: Bacardi Tour
- St. Maarten: Kayaking and Snorkel Adventure in the morning, shopping in the afternoon
- St. Kitt's: Rainforest ziplines in the morning, beach in the afternoon

But if you have been to any of these destinations and have tips on things to do or see, let me know! I'd love some advice.

I haven't been to any of those islands, so I don't have any advice on things to do. I'm excited for you guys that you'll be able to get away this Christmas. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!

Me and my husband lived on St. Maarten for two years so my suggestions would be:
-- to visit airplane beach and watch the planes fly in.
--Seraphina's (yummy French bakery in Marigot by Fort Louis)
--Shopping in Philipsburg (where the cruise ship will drop you off)

Have fun :)

That sounds like an awesome Christmas present! I hope you have a wonderful time. I have been to St. Marteen, but it was many years ago. I think we did a rum tour there, but I can't be certain. We did do some shopping and sightseeing, as there is plenty to see and buy :)

What an awesome trip!!!! I'd love to go somewhere so pretty and warm for the holidays!

Only Caribbean island I've been to is St. Lucia and it was amazing - never been to the others though. Can't wait to see your posts when you get back!

I'm so sorry your holidays were not enjoyable last year. I hope this doesn't come off as presumptuous or invasive of your privacy, but through your posts this past year I have an idea of what you went through. My husband and I are going through the same thing and it's so sad and painful. I'm glad you're going to have a better Christams this year. Your cruise sounds amazing.

awesome - you're going on a cruise too! that is so cool. i hope you have a ton of fun. i've been to puerto rico and st. martin... st. martin has amazing snorkeling - so good choice on that. and in puerto rico, we walked from the cruise terminal to the fort (castillo san felipe del morro) - it was a long walk but there's lots to see and the views at the fort are gorgeous.

enjoy your cruise!!

My family has done several celebrity Christmas cruises and we have loved them! Great way to spend the holidays! That being said when we went to Puerto Rico we did not enjoy the Bacardi tour at all. Felt too comercialized and too much like they were promoting alcohol in a bit of a sleezy was. But that just may have been our impression. When we went to St. Croix and toured Cruzan Rum Factory we did not get that vibe at all. In Puerto Rico the Fort in the old downtown is amazing and well worth going to. Also the old down town is great to walk around and see the historic buildings. I also think the Rainforest (El Yunque) in Puerto Rico is a great place to go but I'm not sure if that was an option. Our favorite thing in Puerto Rico was kayaking with dinoflagellites. It is amazing but again, that may not be offered as it has to be done in the dark. hope this is helpful!
