Family & Football this weekend!

One thing that you may not know about me is that I have the world's smallest family.

Seriously. I've never met anyone with a smaller family/extended family.

Lots and lots of only children (including me). I have only two cousins (and one is by marriage, so she is really a step-cousin). Yes, I know this may be shocking to people that have like 25 cousins like many people I know.

So you can imagine how excited I am that my only blood-cousin is coming to visit me in Los Angeles from Illinois for the first time ever!

I saw him last here, where we cooked up plans for fun-filled football weekend in Los Angeles and San Diego since he loves Football as much as I do but doesn't have big-time college or pro sports in his small town.

He flies in Friday.

On Saturday we're going to tailgate on USC's campus and watch the Trojans play at the Colosseum.

Then Sunday we're going down to San Diego to see the Chargers play at Qualcomm Stadium

The last Charger game that I saw in person was this one. Check out the view from our seats. First row, end-zone! Yup, I've got the hooook-up with tickets.

Have a great weekend everyone! Go Trojans and Bolts!

I think we are kindred spirits. I'm the only child of a only child and I have an only child.

Does that make sense?

Angry Toddler got a new USC jersey last week. It's his 4th one since birth. Does that make you smile?

Go Chargers!! Yay! We'll be cheering them on from home... not too far from Mission Valley though!

My hubs is an only child and I'm one of two. If his mom hadn't remarried into a bunch of new step-sibs, our kids would have been definitely lacking on the cousins.

My family is tiny too. All of my grandparents were/are only children. My mom's brother never married and my dad's sister only has one daughter. So my brother and I only have one cousin!

At least you have cousins! My dad's only sister died when she was a very young girl, and my grandmother's sister only had one surviving child who's 20 years older than my dad, so the only "cousins" we have are actually pretty far removed, being my dad's cousin's grandchildren. Does that make any sense?

I'm never sad I have a small feeling, but I felt it at our wedding, when husband's gigantic family took up practically the whole guest list and the only family I had was my mom, dad, stepmom, two brothers and three grandparents. No aunts or uncles, no cousins. Just the nine of us. It was lonely.

* a small family. Not a small "feeling"

I feel for you. I have NO cousins, but I do have 4 sisters. I have no cousins because I only have one uncle, and he isn't married. Sometimes I feel like I am missing out when people talk about family reunions!

And I thought I had a small number of cousins. I have 4, although like you, 1 of them is really a step-cousin.

I have a very small fam too! I think that's why I (we) want a bigger family=), not 20 kids but 4 would be good for now=) ha. That's going to be so much fun! Have a great weekend!

I am somewhat similar....I only have 5 first cousins (from 2 aunts), so I am close with them.

What a fun weekend - lots of football with family! :)

Another thing we have in common - not only our college & pro teams, but the tiny family too. I've always been jealous of those who have a ton of cousins they're close with.

But back to the football, have a blast at the games! I'm hoping you bring good luck & good health to our teams, both of whom could use some after last week.
