Back to the Grind

After having almost two weeks off from work, it's back to the daily grind at Large Consulting Firm.

I fly to San Jose tomorrow at 6:15 AM with my laptop and roller bag in tow.

And I. Am. Dreading. It.

These two weeks off of work made me realize how much I enjoy NOT working. Ha! Too bad I really like being able to pay my mortgage and go shopping.

So if I'm a bit MIA this week it's because I'm buried in meetings, emails, and 12 hour days.

Just for fun, I wanted to recap on what I did over my corporate Christmas Break:

  • Celebrated Christmas with my family
  • Did some cleaning and home organizing (I heart organizing!)
  • Went shopping the day after Christmas and again the week after with my Mom and got some cute new work clothes, a dress for a friends wedding in April, and some discount Christmas decor!
  • Took down all of my Christmas decorations (my house looks so empty!)
  • Caught up on work and personal emails
  • Pondered over and recapped the entire "zeros" decade
  • Chose and submitted our wedding photos to my photographer for our wedding album (FINALLY!)
  • Had dinner with Danica from Chic Runner at The Yard House
  • Planned the dates and locations for our summer trip to Europe
  • Celebrated New Years Eve
  • Helped my Mom take down all of her Christmas decorations

(The only thing I didn't do much was work out or cook. But that is what New Years resolutions are for, right?!)

Overall, it was a fun and productive break. I'm so sad it is over. Sometimes I feel like January is such a let down, don't you?

You've been so busy! And I'm right there with you...I have NO desire to go to school tomorrow! I could use another week or two at home.

We're also in the midst of planning a trip overseas this summer. Possibly Europe, but we might end up in South America. You've motivated me to get the ball rolling and start the actual planning!

Have a great day back at work tomorrow :)

I love organizing too! And who doesn't love shopping? Sounds like a fun break! It is so hard to go back.

Sigh.. I hate January. I feel so sad and depressed, it's cold, Christmas is over, even though I'm married the anticipation of V-day just doesn't excite me enough to snap out of a winter funk. It's just blah.

I'm glad you had a good New Year though - it looks like you had a ton of fun!!

i am totally dreading tomorrow too! ugh!

January is my least favorite month... so depressing with nothing to really look forward to! haha

Have a safe trip tomorrow... you're actually going to be close to us probably (we live about 15 minutes from the airport)!

Organizing is one of the things that I love to do after Christmas. So many toys to go through and donate and new ones to put away. I ran across your blog through The Haney Life. Following you on google reader now. Have a great day at work tomorrow.

I'm a bit sad the holidays are over. Although it isn't nearly as bad as when you had to start going back to school when you were younger, at least not for me

ugh, it sucks to be back to the real world today! My husband also works for a "large consulting company" and just left for the airport... I am sad about going back to the weekday lonely nights, after 2 full weeks of being together. So I guess I am kinda on the other side from you! Though I'm not real excited about going back to work either :-/ Let's hope January goes quick!

Even though I didn't really take time off during the holidays it was pretty quiet. This morning started off with a bang...and it wasn't pretty! I feel your pain! But you get to look forward to an awesome trip to Europe this sumemr. How fun!

I know the feeling! Returning to work has really bummed me out this year! I figure it will take about a week to break out of this mode and embrace January!

Hi girlie. Yes it was coincidence that we broke up at 9-11. That is the reason why I remember it, I think. Hope your week goes by quickly.
