Welcome to the World, Gremlin!

Big news! My friend (and former manager) delivered her baby boy on Friday!!!

(I blogged about her baby shower earlier)

She nicknamed him "Gremlin" (beacuse of when he looked/sounded like on the ultrasound) but now he's a living person with a real name (which I won't reveal without her permission). I'm so excited and happy for her and her family!

I worked closely with her for all 8 months of her pregnancy, so I really got to learn the ins-and-outs of pregnancy like never before (the exhaustion, the "baby brain", the crazy kicks/punches the baby would do). She even joked around that she was helping me to learn the "best practices" for when it was my turn.

Working with her for those 8 months definitely made a part of me want to start my own family. But the other part of me (who heard about child labor classes and braxton-hicks contractions) wanted to wait a looooong time before going through all that craziness.

How about the rest of you ladies who don't have kids yet... does being around moms-to-be and new moms make you want to have kids anytime soon? Or are you happy with your care-free, child-free lifestyle?

Everyday is different...a lot of my friends have had babies in the past few months, so seeing them makes me want one. But then I get the frantic calls that they haven't slept in 48 hours and it doesn't seem so appealing. We are "planning" to wait at least a year, but I guess you never really know when it will happen...

Hmm.. my MOH is having a baby in 2 days...and it's actually making us realize we are definitely not ready to give up our freedom! We currently love our little boy...who is a dog!

My best friend has a 4 year old and is also due with another little one in May.

I like to think that I can live vicariously through her for a few years, but my husband has baby on the brain way more than me. He's already dreaming about having one, or kinda hoping.

My husband would be ready to start a family immediately if I said yes!! haha...I'm still enjoying just being "us" but when I'm around babies and kids I always wonder...

If anything, being around moms probably makes me want children less! I feel bad, like the baby-wanting gene is missing from me... So definitely enjoying "us" for now!

Gremlin is a great nickname! One of my best friends just got pregnant and hearing her talk about what she's going through has completely scarred me.

Everytime I'm hanging out with my niece I want to have kids! But we are just not ready yet and we know the timing isn't right so it makes it easier.

I can't wait to have a baby! If things had gone according to plan, I'd be pregnant now. We wanted to have a honeymoon baby. But we decided to wait, and I'm glad we did because things did get really tight for us. But yeah - baby, baby, baby! Any show I watch which features babies, tears a rolling down my cheeks. :)

I'm now in the minority with my friends- they're all pregnant! It's in the water here. =) I have what I call "my moments" of baby blues and beg my husband but then when I wake up later or my sanity returns, I just remind him that while I may beg, it's just the "moments" talking!!

I definitely feel more ready now than I would have say a year ago, but I still think I have a fews years to go before I am seriously bitten by the baby bug. Having a dog is just the right amount of responsibility for my husband and I right now.

Great question! I'm in the same boat as some of your other commenters, my hubby is ready NOW! He even threatens to sabatoge my birth control with fake pills. I have my moments, though. The baby part I'm kinda iffy about, but I'm fascinated by pregnancy and can't wait to feel what it's actually like. Oh, and going to places like Disneyland or the beach make me look forward to having kids someday and being able to see the world's wonders through their eyes. But for now, I'm good!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a great day!
