Tell Me About You!

Hey all! I'm back from the lake... pictures will be up later this week. We had a great time!

I just saw that I now have 270 followers! Whoa! I remember back in November being so excited that I had 10! I used to religiously follow the blogs of all of my followers, but now I can't keep up with my Google Reader!

That said, I really want to get to know you all better, especially my newest followers.

So I'm going to do a fun little game... I'm going to tell you one unique/interesting fact about me. Then I want you to post a unique/interesting fact about you in the comments field (and link to your blog if it's there as well).

Here goes...

I still have two baby teeth. I was born without adult teeth for my "lateral incisors" (the teeth on both sides of my two front teeth). The teeth that are now next to both of my front teeth are actually canine teeth (which would normally be the pointy teeth in the third position) that moved over and have been shaved and capped. The canine teeth that I have are still my baby canines. That's why they are not pointy like normal canine teeth. See how tiny there are:

Apparently my baby canine teeth are strong enough to stay with me forever if I want to them to despite being much smaller and rounded than a normal canine tooth. 26 years old and still rockin' some baby teeth!

Still want to know more about me and my quirks? Check out these links:
- 20 Questions with Me
- Fun Facts from various blog tags: here, here, here, and here.

Now tell me about you! Post a unique/fun/interesting fact about you in the comments and if I find some really good ones, I'll post them and link to you tomorrow!

That is too cool! I had one of my lateral Incisors until I was 18 and the dentist suggested I get it pulled!(not a fun thing) My Dad still has one of his and he is in his fourties!!

So I guess that can be one interesting thing about me...And I can't think of anything else right now.. :P
If I think of something I will post it later!!

Hello friend !
I started following your blog because I am a newlywed also. So much fun new stuff to discover. My 1 year anniversary is the 26th of July !! woot woot.

My interesting fact about me is that I have 11 nieces and nephews. I love that fact. I have 6 and one on the way and my husband has 4. We have fertility issues and may not be able to have our own children, so we will just spoil our nieces and nephews. Maybe someone out there has more, but im pretty proud of:
Caitlyn, Abby, Zander, Tommy, Hailey, James,Becca, Wesley, Owen, Joey and baby # 11 due in Feb.

Thanks for asking !

Fun idea! I'm pretty new to your blog ...

My walk in closet is organized by color. ROY G BIV. And none of my shirts have tags - because I've cut them all out.

My husband has one baby tooth (he had to point it out... I couldn't tell!). Love this post! What a fun idea!

Interesting fact about me: I can READ braille, TAP OUT anything in Morse code and TALK with sign language. I got really sick when I was a teenager and spent 6 months in a hospital. Needless to say, I had a lot of spare time to learn a new language. I picked these! ;) It really does come in handy more than you'd actually think it would!

Interesting fact about me: I am a mix of 5 nationalities and no one can ever guess what they are. When people ask, I always respond with, "i'm brown". Ha!

Fun fact about me: My little brother is 8 almost 9 years younger than me and everyone always thinks he is my son. Now that he is getting older and taller than me it is happening less though...whew!!

My son is missing 4 adult teeth...can you say $$CHA-CHING$$$

One interesting fact...just one...that's tough...I guess it would be that I met my husband while sitting at a stop light in Myrtle Beach while we were both on vacation...that was in 1994...and we are still going strong!

firstly, i love your blog!! an interesting fact is that i've had a scar on my stomach since i was about 1 year old. it was from when i fell on a bucket-and i've had it my whole life! the skin wasn't even broken! it's pretty weird but when i was a kid i LOVED madeline (the book series) and had a scar exactly like hers!

I am right handed but do left handed cartwheels haha. I cant stand purple skittles! and hmm lets see. I only have 2 wisdom teeth.

How fun!!! Thanks for doing this!

Unique fact about me....

I was born with my intestines wrapped around a bunch of organs and tied in knots. I had to have surgery when I was 9 days old to put everything where it belonged. As a result, I lost a portion of my intestines and have a (ugly) scar from one side of my stomach to the other. No bikinis EVER for me, lol!

Thanks for the comment! Love your blog! I don't still have baby teeth, but I am scared to death of lizards. To the point of leaving the house if I see one. I once sat outside for an hour with groceries trying to figure out how to get around one.

Fun fact: I am a classically trained ballet dancer. I don't dance too much anymore because being a adult means getting a real adult job! :( I would have loved to be a professional ballet dancer!

My fun fact is that I have a screw in my jaw becuase I never got any of my 4 wisdom teeth. I'm that advanced of a human. ha ha

My eyes change colors depending on my mood. They turn the bluest blue when I am happy, gray when I am sad, and are blue-green when I'm just average. I love all of my wedding close-ups because my eyes are bluer that I have ever seen them before!

When I was 8 I accidently got shot with a carpenter staple gun on my upper right thigh. To this day and forever I have the scar that looks just like a staple on me to remember it.

Let me think...I am one of those people that likes to certain things on my own -like go to the movies (I feel like I have escaped) and shop. I truly can't stand shopping with someone else -kind of weird. I guess I learned to be truly independent when I went off to college!

That's crazy about your teeth. Way to hang in there baby teeth! My front, top two teeth are fake from a car accident. I hit the wheel and a week later both of my teeth died, so they are fake. I love them though because they got shaped perfectly and my teeth used to be really small!!

Shoshanah said...

Awfully random about your teeth, although I'm sure most people don't notice until you tell them.

And something random... I broke both my arms at the same time at Knotts Berry Farm at my friend's birthday party. And it was June, so I spent the whole summer with two casts and couldn't go swimming. Luckily the casts stopped below my elbow so I could still bend my arms. Of course course I was 7 and had one pink & one purple cast.

What a good idea! I wish I still had my baby teeth, haha.

A random fact about me:
*I can write my first and last name at the same exact time with a pen in my left hand and one in my right.

And a funny story:
*When I was two my dad was working on the roof of our house and I decided to climb up the ladder to "go see him." Somehow I didn't fall off and kill myself.

I'm a new reader and just added you to my Google Reader.

An interesting fact about me is that I once burnt my eyeball with a curling iron. Once was enough. Apparantly, my blinking reflex is slow. My whole eyeball turned white and I had to wear an eye patch for a week. There's nothing more humiliating than sporting a pirate eye patch when in 7th grade. Mortifying. But, I got over it (kinda). =)

Great idea.

My fact:
When I went to the dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed, he asked me if I had my bottom one's removed and I said no. Then he said "that's funny, then that means you don't have bottom wisdom teeth at all. They are non existent." I was a happy camper.

And i also have really small ears and don't have the top part of my ear like everyone elses curves.. so I can't wear bluetooth headsets because they fall right off the top of my ear because there is nothing to hold it in place. lol

Hi! I have been following your blog for a month or so…but just became an “official follower” just now! Your smile and teeth always look so great in your photos…so I guess the baby teeth work for you!!

I am sure I can come up with something better, but for now, the fact about me:
I am VERY afraid of the Dark!! I grew up basically in the woods, and then lived in the City for 6 years…and now live back “in the woods”.
I feel safer, and at ease walking down the streets of a City alone at 1:00 AM, than I do walking out of my house at night with NO people around! SO, basically I am more afraid of the woodsy dark and “scary animals” than of City crime and “scary people”. At least there are street lights in the City!
My parents did not appreciate my lack of fear of late night city streets when I lived there! I will not even run out to the garage at night alone! And there are NO houses around! Just scary woods! :)

My blog is http://kiwisandcocktails.blogspot.com/
I am married to a Kiwi-AKA A New Zealander- hence the name of my blog! Married just over 2 years!

I guess mine would be that I knocked my 4 front teeth out trying to ice skate. I had just gotten my braces the day before, which is the only reason they stayed in my mouth and could be saved. I have cracks in all four and can't bit carrots, apples or anything hard on them. Dentures, anyone?

I found your blog through A Balancing Act in Heels and I've enjoyed reading it. :)

Random fact about me:
My father is retired Air Force but instead of moving around like most military families we lived in North Dakota for 18 years of my life. He never got stationed anywhere else so to this day I call ND home even though Ill probably never move back there and I know consider Virginia my new home.

Here's the link to my blog, enjoy!

All I can think about now are teeth! haha! When I was little I fell in the bathtub and hit my front two teeth on the edge of the tub. They died and turned brown, but my parents and the dentist decided to just let them fall out on their own. I had 2 brown teeth for a few years. It scarred me for life. haha!

I've had a tooth shaved, but only because they had to remove one of my canines. I had too many teeth for my small mouth.

I'm new here. What an interesting fact about you. I have one that is somewhat similar ... my front four teeth are fake ... well, actually, they are veneered. My real teeth are still under them, but they were shaved down to little tiny things because the veneers were placed over top.

I love reading your blog! I know I am pretty bad about commenting, but I'm an avid reader!

My interesting fact is that I have a mole that looks like the chevy emblem. Now it looks kinda like a blob, but when I was younger it was a dead ringer for the chevy sign. Stranger thing is that my dad is a GM dealer, so I felt like it proved that I was from a car family!

Have a great rest of your week!

How fun!! Remember me? I'm your birthday twin only A LOT older. Interesting fact about me... when I was 8 year old I swallowed a 3 inch long corsage pin from my uncle's wedding. It happened the day after the wedding when I was walking around with the pretty pearl tip in my mouth and before I knew it it was lodged in my throat. Thankfully it went down but sadly I spent the next several days in the hospital waiting for the dr's to decide what to do with me. I was able to get rid of it (don't ask) on my birthday and was able to go home. The good thing was I got a new gerbil for my birthday :)

Hmmmm.... an interesting fact about me?
Let's see... I've never ever broken a bone in my body, even though I've fallen through the ceiling (from the attic - smooth, huh?) and severely sprained both of my ankles before.
Also, the little kid in me LOVES ghost stories!

I can write forward and backwards at the same time...for real! If I could show y'all, I would...but I can basically write a mirror imagine of any word.

So if my right hand is writing "beach," my left hand can write it in the opposite direction (at the SAME time) and it looks like a mirror image.

Weird, I know.

Hmm... this is a tough one. Something about me...

Here's one: I am freakishly genetically flexible. My brother and I both have it and its actually very dangerous because most of our joints can bend well beyond a safe range, meaning that we are susceptible to injure our joints and bones. Yikes!

Rachel said...

Wow! That's crazy, but I really wouldn't know id you didn't point it out!

Here's my fact...I have a third nipple. I KNOW, so weird, but it's in my left arm pit and just looks like a weird mole, which is what I thought it was for the first 20 years of my life. One day my boyfriend (now husband) convinced me it was a nipple, and after a lot of google searching I knew he was right. I then asked a doctor and she said it is most likely a nipple. I was really bothered by this revelation at first, but now I'm cool with it :)

Hmmm, interesting things about me. Well, I have a phobia of cheap cotton balls. I KNOW, it doesn't make any sense. But I hate the way the squish in my hands...ugh. They give me goose bumps. I have to get the super soft organic ones from CVS. I am brand-loyal to the specific ones from CVS and goodness knows what will happen if they ever disappear! Yikes!

I also have an irrational fear of crocodiles, even though I've never really seen one in the wild. I just think they're scary.

I am an only child, but my husband is the youngest of five, so now I have a huge family!

I'm sure there are a gazillion other weird things about me, but I can't think of any of them right now!

I just started following your blog, and even though this is a few posts down, I thought it was too fun to pass up!!

I can't think of anything but teeth now after reading yours! One thing is I'm very accident-prone. When I was three I had my first big, fat toothbrush to brush my teeth by myself safely. Well, one day I tripped over the bathroom rug while brushing (no clue how) and swallowed the toothbrush! I had to get it surgically removed since it was stuck in my throat, very painful.

I still have all the scars, and whenever I go to a new dentist, they always ask me if I used to have a cleft palate. Apparently the scars look the same for that surgery!

Fun post. :)
