San Diego: 18 things I want to do in our first year

Since I have not lived in San Diego in over a decade, and the Mr. has never lived there at all, there so much we want to see and do! The city has changed a lot since I lived there, but many things remain the same.

So I decided to create a little list of hings I want to do in our first year in San Diego and divided them into some fun sub-categories. I wanted to make a list and track it, since my Baby Bucket List was pretty effective at making me get things done (much less effective at making me have a baby, womp womp).

So here it is... 18 things to do in San Diego before May 2013...

Eat
1. at Searsucker
2. at Prep Kitchen
3. at Craft and Commerce

Drink
4. at Wine Steals
5. at Stone Brewery
6. at Ballast Point

Hike
7. Torrey Pines
8. Cowles Mountain
9. El Capitan

Tour
10. Sea World
11. Cabrillo Monument
12. Wild Animal Park

Swim
13. at Ocean Beach
14. at La Jolla Shores
15. at Coronado

Venture
16. Around the Kensington neighborhood
17. Out in a boat on San Diego Bay
18. To Tecate, Mexico

I've never done many of these before (like all of the restaurants are new) and many of them I've not done since I was a little tyke. Like this...

Age 3 at the San Diego Zoo.

Age 5 at a beach in San Diego.

San Diegans or San Diego aficionados, anything that I MUST add?

Add:

* Drinks at Altitude during a Padres home game

* On a cool winter evening, eat dinner inside, on the back patio at Trattoria Fantastica in Little Italy, grab a cannoli (at their dessert counter) on the way out and head over to Princess Pub for a drink by the cozy fireplace

* Morning coffee or an afternoon picnic at the La Jolla Gliderport

Those were always my favorite things to do when I lived in San Diego! Can you tell that I like to eat and drink? ;)

Padres or Chargers games?

Hubby also did a big beer tasting tour in SD with friends so let me know if you're interested in that!

Oh, and if you go to Sea World, see if you can get on one of the behind the scenes tours...they're amazing!

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I am going to the wild animal park on the 23rd and am so excited! ha.

I've never been to the pearl but I heard it's a fun date night and it's right down the street from you.

Julian in the fall for some moms pie :] I will miss that!

Also when you do cowles, go on a weekday if you can. Weekends are busy and the path is small.

I'm actually working in SD right now! If you're in town during the week, I would love to catch up with you over a drink or dinner.
